Sign Up for a Library Card
Permanent Residents and/or Property Owners:
Permanent residents and recreational property owners may join the library free of charge with adequate proof of residency. Memberships are renewed every three years.
Members of other BC libraries may be eligible for a BC OneCard, which would give them borrowing privileges at the Radium Hot Springs Public Library. (Members of the Invermere Public Library may use their Invermere card when checking out books at the Radium Library.)
Visitor Memberships will be given to temporary patrons for a fee of $30.00 annually, $15.00 of which will be refunded upon the return of library card and materials in good condition. Two pieces of formal identification will be required and recorded for all Visitor Memberships. Materials borrowed with a Visitor Membership will be limited to one (1) popular/bestseller item or one(1) secondary item per visit. For example, a family of four(4) may borrow up to four(4) books or one(1) new release item.
Library card holders’ rights and responsibilities
You are responsible for all the materials borrowed on your card and for any charges on items that are either lost or damaged. Your library card provides access to licensed databases from outside the library. You may also look at our catalogue from home over the Internet, and access your account to place holds, keep lists and renew items.
Lost or stolen cards
If you lose your library card, you are responsible for any items checked out on your card. You must report it as lost immediately and we will block the card so that no one can use it. There may be a small charge to replace a lost card.
Change of address or password
It is important for us to have your current information. If you change your address or other personal information, contact the library and we’ll update your record. To change your PIN number, log in to your account, click on the "Account Preferences" tab, and change your password. We do not recommend that patrons use a 4 digit number as their password. 4 digit numbers should only be used for temporary passwords and should be changed to something more secure after the account is created.
